Susan B. Geffen
Biography
After growing up in Chicago, Susan moved to the West Coast to attend Loyola Law School. Upon graduation, she became an advocate for the disabled for 15 years, subsequently deciding to get her Masters in Gerontology from USC.
In 2002, Susan became an elder law professor at Loyola Law School, and was General Counsel for a large nursing home corporation in Marina Del Rey, CA.
With a growing passion to bridge the gap between the elderly and their adult children, she started SAGE Consulting, Inc., providing Geriatric Care Management services. Realizing her passion for making positive change in people’s lives would be limited to a relatively small group of clients, and desiring to make a more significant contribution to the aging industry, she created the website, My Mom n’ Pop (mymomnpop.com).
Susan has authored “The 7 Triggers of Mental Health Decline In Seniors…And How To Disarm Them Forever!” and is currently writing another book about AARP that she expects to be published in 2010.
She is also the producer and host of the Elder Life Video Series (www.elderlifeseries.com), which has established a large loyal following of YouTube viewers who seem to have an insatiable appetite for elder life stories and educational content. Susan has an educational DVD currently in production which is expected to be released by December, 2009.
Susan resides in Redondo Beach with her husband Joel, and their two children.

Your Mom Just Broke Her Hip And Your Six Year Old Needs A Ride To T-Ball Practice. Help Is Here! “MyMomnPop.com” provides the resources you need to keep your sanity.
Congratulations, you are now an official member of the Sandwich Generation, simultaneously taking care of your kids and your elderly parents.
Susan B. Geffen’s “MyMomnPop” may be the answer to your prayers.
As a former Elder Law professor at Loyola Law School with a Master’s Degree in Gerontology from the University of Southern California, Ms. Geffen has created an online, multi-media resource center for helping adult children of elderly parents that includes free referrals to vetted and trusted service providers.
“Taking care of kids is hard enough, but being responsible for an aging parent makes things extremely difficult and stressful, physically, financially and emotionally.
Unfortunately, few adult children with elderly parents are prepared for the day they will have to help take care of their own parents,” according to Ms. Geffen.
My Mom n’ Pop helps thousands of families find the answers they need quickly and easily with it’s Learning Center and search engine. There are also easy to read books and newsletters covering a variety of relevant topics, as well as opportunities to attend webinars right at your own computer. Visitors just click on a topic and they can choose to view a video, read or request a free referral.
Besides its appealing look and design, one of the most unique, and most entertaining draws of My Mom n’ Pop is “The Elder Life Video Series” which features Susan conducting candid interviews with experts in aging and seniors about a variety of topics, including elder abuse, forced retirement, dating, losing a spouse, social isolation, and nutrition among others. It combines education with entertainment for all ages.
